Baptism

Expectant parents should contact the office four to six (4-6) months before the birth of the child.

The sacrament of baptism is the beginning of life.

When we are born, we enter this world with a soul that is tainted with original sin. It's not something, more over the absence of something. it is darkness, where there should be light. Original sin was born with first at of disobedience against God, the eating of the forbidden fruit by Adam and Eve.

The sacrament of Baptism was instituted to remove original sin. By baptism, we can cleanse our soul and allow the light to shine in the darkness. This gift is the first true wonder of a life of faith. With this gift, we can be relieved of our venial and cardinal sins. Whether as a child or an adult. This is the first step in to the faith.

While Baptism does not completely remove original sin, we are still human. bound to make mistakes and disobey God. But with this gift, we have now opened ourselves to other sacraments to ask for forgiveness and peace, joy and relief. This is truly the most important of the sacraments, as it is the first act of deoting ourseles to the love of God and his Son, and a way to choose a better life and afterlife for ourselves.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19
